Do you desire to make a difference in a child’s life? Do you want to impact the future? If you said yes to either of these questions, then we have great opportunities here at FGC for you! There are three tracks available: Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, and the Educator Preparation Institute. If you are interested in teaching children birth through age 4, the Early Childhood pathway is for you. Begin with the A.S. Early Childhood degree and get your certificates along the way that will allow you to get started as a teacher in the child care setting. Upon graduating with your A.S. Early Childhood degree, you can enter the B.S. Early Childhood program. If you are interested in teaching older children, grades K-12, the A.A. degree with an Education area of interest is where you should begin. After completing your A.A. degree, you can enter a Bachelor’s of Education program. For A.A. graduates interested in teaching Kindergarten – 6th grade, FGC has a Bachelor’s of Elementary Education program. This program leads to Florida Teacher Certification and requires all teacher candidates to pass the Florida Teacher Certification Exams. If you have already completed a Bachelor’s Degree in an area outside of education, but wish to become a certified teacher, then the Educator Preparation Institute (EPI) is for you. You can obtain a professional teacher certificate and begin your career in teaching through the EPI alternative certification pathway in three semesters.
FGC offers a selection of education-related Associate of Arts (AA) degree paths to suit your needs. More information on AA pathways.
