Facial Specialty, Occupational Certificate (O.C.) – 220 clock hour program, 7.33 occupation credits

The Facial Specialty Certificate program teaches facial practices which prepare students to gain employment as Florida-licensed Facial Specialists. This program is a one-学期 program offered every fall and spring 学期. 学生 must pass each course with C or better.

Testing Entrance Requirements

A Facial Specialist student only has to pass the FGC exit exam with a score of 85% or better, complete the 100 state-mandated service hours, and receive 220 contact hours to submit an application for DBPR Florida Facial Specialty licensure. 学生 do not take a state exam.

Program Details

Admission Requirements
  • To be considered for this program a student must be at least 16 years old and either a high school graduate or have a GED certificate, or be a non-high school graduate who has been out of high school at least six months.
  • Meet with an advisor from the Cosmetology Dept. for advising.
Program Notes
  • New classes begin each January and August. 
  • This program is based on clock-hour attendance. A student must complete the minimum specified hours to receive his or her certificate.

Learning Outcomes
  • 学生 will perform basic skin care services including skin analysis, 面部美容, makeup application, and superfluous hair removal. 
  • 学生 will learn to operate microdermabrasion, microcurrent, light therapy, and oxygen facial machines.
  • 学生 will learn the business side of the Facial industry
