The FGC First-Year Experience is a comprehensive program of events and activities that assist students in becoming familiar with Florida Gateway College and developing the necessary college skills to thrive while attending FGC. The FYE schedule of events and activities continues over a 10-month period – from contact during New Student Orientation through completing the first year of study at Florida Gateway College in May.
The FGC First-Year Experience links incoming students with the institution and with faculty, staff, and other incoming students.
A structured half-day program offered during August and January that offers new students the opportunity to connect with faculty and staff and become familiar with the FGC campus and the array of academic and campus life programs available.
At Florida Gateway College, Welcome Week is a week-long experience with various daily activities.
From 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, students can stop by building 7 to enjoy free arts and crafts, scavenger hunts, photo opportunities, lunches, and sweet treats, all for free. To top off the week, students can go to one of Florida’s beautiful springs for the day and enjoy time on the water with their old and new friends. Soon after these festivities, Club Rush is held on campus, allowing students to sign up for every club that piques their interest. Welcome Week is a time to meet up with old friends, introduce yourself to new ones, and enjoy the experience while preparing to succeed in a new semester. We can’t wait to see you there!
